Warren Skidmore

In 2006, he published with Frank Skidmore the

Scudamore/Skidmore Family History CD which contains the result of 40 years' interest and painstaking research into the history of our family, undertaken largely by Warren himself, in collaboration with Frank Skidmore and John Hunt. A short biography of Warren can be found here.

Warren has traced the ancestors of almost all US Skidmores and Scudamores.

He has written in detail on Ralph, the family’s earliest Norman ancestor and Ralph’s descendants 11th to 16th centuries and in some cases later.

Since the publication of this CD in 2006, Warren has continued to add to his considerable body of work in the form of Occasional Papers, notably in expanding on his research into the pre-1600 era and finding links to the families known from the post-1600 era of parish records. Warren’s work can be viewed here.

After finishing her book on the Black Country Skidmores in 2004, she has since

collaborated with others to produce written accounts of almost all of the families post-1600

in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Almost all of this work, done over the

past 40 years, is now posted on this site. A summary of her work can be viewed here.

She also set up the Skidmore Family History Group in 1988 and for many years produced its newsletters.

Linda is from Dudley in the English West Midlands. Her father John Stuart (Jack) Skidmore came from a long line of coal miners and ironworkers.
